The Card Shoppe / Boo!

Pam Korte enjoys making, selling, and donating her handmade cards. Every month, she creates between 175-200 cards for the Creative Kindness Foundation.

“A handmade card received by snail mail may be old-fashioned, but everyone does smile, and they appreciate a beautiful handmade card!” says Pam, who lives in Alva, Florida. Pam also sells her cards in a Sanibel Island bookstore and creates custom-card orders for many of her friends.

Her card, Boo!, started with a black cardstock base scored vertically multiple times. A piece of 4-inch paper printed with a ghost theme was cut into strips in slightly narrower widths than the scored sections. These sections were then glued over sections on the card’s front. Pam says that this card features four sections, but you can create as many, or as few, sections as you like.

Besides several of Pam’s Halloween cards featured in the Card Shoppe column, she also describes how to make a card holder, like the one shown here.
