Blast from the Past

Rubber-stamped beauties sent in long ago are featured in Blast From the Past, along with some commentary from the artists. This Blast includes six pieces, three of which were postmarked, while the others arrived in envelopes as submissions for issue themes.

The Red Pagoda, seen on the Home Page and above, was submitted for an Asian-inspired theme. Artist Diana Sample remembers creating the scene and “how many times I had to mask that damn pagoda.” We’re glad she stuck with it and sent it to RSM

Hannamaija Teisko’s beautiful envelope was mailed from her home country, Finland, in 2002. Her artwork often appeared in the magazine, and was on the cover of the RubberStampMadness Album of Scenic Art, published in 2009.
